Nonconformity

True nonconformity is not indulgence in the darker elements of society. By attempting to play upon the fears of the ignorant populace, it is still an act of conformity to their immacualte pattern. True nonconformity resides in the knowing of oneself and continual discontent with the world around you. If you are content, you cease to drive forward. You cease to learn. Those who adorn themselves in black and chains and punch holes in their lips are ironically the epitome of the very ones they stand against. They failed to assimilate themselves into the system above so they integrate with the one below. They retreat into darkness out of fear. They cannot stand on their own so they turn the fear into resentment and present themsevles in a manner which society deems “unacceptable” simply for the sense they are being acknowledged. They are insecure. They feign apathy and wrath but harbor weakness greater than any infant. They fail to be self sufficient so they lean upon darkness for strength. Their rejection from society provides them every justification they need to annoy the piss out of me. Darkness is fleeting, but as is light. One can only rely upon their own eyes to adjust and percieve beyong the petty fluxations of the human being.

Introspection

Freedom is attained when one depends on nothing but oneself. To be free is to be truly happy. But are not some of us (myself included) dependant on our own intellect for our happiness? Does not the sense of higher knowledgabilty over others bring about a sense of superioirty and accomplishment and therein subjected ourselves to the very greed and vanity we oppose? I myself do not dwell on material possessions, but it is my psyche that I flaunt about. It is human nature to crave acknowledgement from others. When we attain something new we share the experience with others lest it loses its value. Without recognition from another, nothing possesses any apparent value. What can truly change the nature of a man? If we are dependant, then we are not free. Is man capable of achieveing freedom, nay happiness? Does freedom even exist within the confones of mortality? If everthing: greed, vanity, hatred, joy, wisdom, ignorance, were all stripped away, what would remain? And is it not these faults that define a human being?
